I cancelled a couple of o2 contracts 3-4 months ago and all I had to pay was the remainnig commitment. I made sure I dropped by monthly plan to minimum before cancelling though

normally you can't drop line rental until half way through your contract, so if this was an 18 month-er then you'll have no problem, if its a 12 month-er then you'll prob need to plead your case though I wouldn't hold my breath

@miss uk - Try to encourage your MOM to join Esato . . . for her to SEE that we are ONE-big-LOVING-family here . . . maybe she'll learn something from this forum too . . .

You can always ask them if you can pay a lump sum for the same ammount into your account rather than paying it off, that was the contract will still run and you'll still get your free minutes and texts, but it'll cost you no more than cancelling it. Always handy to have a spare sim with free mins and texts on if you ask me.

How much would the lump sum be say?
I have a Mobile world sim card which actually happens to run on the
T-Mobile network to tide me over for now anyways

Well it'd cost the same either way, so say your on a £25 a month contract and you have 7-8 months left (same as me! lol) it'd cost you £175-£200, so just about what you got for the K800i
