I've just updated a K800i via SEUS to the latest firmware version (R1KG001), and after doing this whenever I take a picture it takes about 10 seconds to save the picture! When I had a K800i before, it would only take a second or two to save a picture (can't remember what firmware version that was, think it was the one before the version with the video preview bug!)

Is this a common bug with this firmware version, can't find anything specifically about it in the K800i firmware overview thread.

Anything I can do about this, apart from installing an earlier version via Wotanserver? Or would it need something like an Erom update?

EDIT: Has another problem too, It also got a 'white screen of death' when I plugged it into the USB cable and went into 'File Transfer' mode - everything still worked and could transfer files except the screen remained white. A quick re-install of the firmware using SEUS fixed the problem - is this an existing issue, will it keep happening every time I plug the phone into the USB cable to transfer files?

Have you got the date/time stamp set on? Ages ago, that used to slow down saving photos. It may be on accidentally?

Yes, the date/time stamp is on, I'll try again with it off and see if it makes any difference.

I flashed mine to R1KG001 EUROPE_5 via Wotan Server, not SEUS and my findings are:
1. Fine quality, 3 MP, no date/time----it takes normal to save pictures, 1-2 seconds.

2. Fine quality, 3 MP, with date/time stamp on, it takes around 4-5 seconds to save the picture. But it's NOT 10 seconds as Sammy-boy experienced. Yes, it's longer in time, but it isn't that too laggy.

3. In File Transfer Mode, NO White Screen stays forever during the transfer. Just in the beginning of the process, then it displays 'don't remove...bla..bla..bla' message.

Just turned the timestamp off and it saved almost instantly! Strange, that!

Will try the usb thing again and see if it does it properly, though think the pc wanted a restart first

It's been like that for quite awhile AFAIK.

It gets even stranger - I've got two K800is - both now running the same firmware. One's blocked and the other is the one I'm using currently.

Now, I timed both phones taking an identical picture with the timestamp on and off - with it off they both saved within a second or so. The blocked K800i took the 4 or so seconds to save with the timestamp on, as Aremaboy's stated. But when I timed my K800i - it took about 19 seconds! Something's not quite right with that phone, though everything else seems fine with it.

That phone had been dropped though, I've replaced the facia and screen on it - maybe something else has recieved a bit of damage maybe?

I had definately noticed the slowness to save as well. It was one of the fist things I noticed and I mentioned it in the K800 F/W thread. Turning off the date stamp definately improves the time to save. Also, I have found if you change the settings to save pictures to the phone memory it saves quicker.

yes, new software versions did that, the pictures are saved alot slower since the time/date stamp is red, the font is more smoth but takes ages to save the picture, i mailed some time SE about this told me to format my m2 or better to save photos in phone memory but even in phone memory it isnt saved at the speed that was saved before that.
