ok my comp at work does not have admin rights, i am not saying i want it, but i need one access, to run mstsc or the terminal services client. the main reason being that all my training files are centrally located on one comp and the shared folder is full, it has a measly 30mb of space, which i need for the pst.

so what i need to know, how to get mstsc running? i can get the screen, i enter the name of the comp, but when i try to login it says, "the security policy of this computer does not allow you to logon interactievely"

what do i do?

pls help.

reboot in safe mode and hope the usually hidden administrator account has no password which is does by default unless you change it

If you knew the password of a local administrator account and log on to the local computer instead of the domain, the group policy won't be enforced (if group policy hasn't blocked logging on localy ). You should still have internet and lan, but not domain access. If you log your computer off the domain you may be able to access it from the training room with terminal service client (RDP basically), but you'll need to make sure any software firewall is turned off also.

It's going to be difficult for you to hack your way around group policy (esp. without admin rights!), getting your system admin to assist will probably be the only practical way you will get access to terminal services ifthe above doesn't work.
