> W610i/K550i M2 Capacity?
Bookmark topic
Well I'm about to get a W610i mainly because it has both a good camera and walkman 2.0 but then upon checking SE's website, I found this:
Extend a device’s memory with the smallest memory card on the market, Memory Stick Micro™ (M2™) (up to 1GB). Adaptors are available if you want to use with Memory Stick PRO-compatible products.
1GB?! I hope that's a joke, especially when M2 cards have specifically been designed for SE phones.
Anyway, has anyone used any higher capacity M2 on their W610i/K550i (i assume the K550i is the same hardware-wise so if it works with one it should work with the other too).
Thanks in advance

As always in these documents this is the capacity that was available at the time the device was released. Of course larger M2 work perfectly well.
I tested a SANDISK Memory Stick Micro M2 2.0GB in my K610 with no problems.

That is true, but not a general rule. For example, the whitye paper for K800i states that K800i handles up to 2GB M2's, and that paper was published long time before there even was an 1GB card available, either from Sony or Sandisk. On the other hand, the white paper for K810, which has to have been released a good time after the K800's, it say "up to 1GB M2 cards". I think the only way to be sure is to try, or let someone else try

Well I guess if it works on a K610i it will also work on a W610i which is newer. The main think that bugged me was the fact that on the W880i page it states it takes up to 2GB...

My ex girlfriend has a K550. I put W610 firmware on it and a 2GB works fine!

I experienced no lag at all in accessing files or startup.
Next to get my 4GB M2!
