Hi all
Just found
This over at Engadget Imobile....unfortunately, it seems someone still wants to bring down S60/users of....
Not such a serious one in this case(do a web search for 'Caribe', you'll see what I mean), but phone Viruses(I think Virii is a better word

) can be JUST as dangerous as PC ones, if not more so......
Be Vigilant people!

Read the link; I wasn't pointing out Caribe(doesn't affect S60v.3, for one thing), that was just mentioned as an example, to show how damaging a virus can be.
The Engadget article describes a TROJAN virus, which DOES affect S60v.3, hence the heads up....

your 'heads up' is appreciated
the virus is named "Trojan-SMS.SymbOS.Viver" so a different virus to "caribe".... my mistake...
also a good time to plug some anti virus software...

As usual, its more of hype than anything. Unlike PC viruses and trojans, the existing Symbian malware cannot run or be installed on your device without your active participation.
No-one really needs any anti-virus on a Symbian device; just the awareness of the existence of the malware, plus caution and good sense. A few tips:
1. Download apps from reputable sources.
2. Press 'No' to any request for installation of anything you don't know, especially if you got it via SMS or bluetooth.
