The P800 (may) be released next week in the U.A.E!! There is a big mobile fone retailer here in Dubai called Aptec Mobiles, which claims that the P800 will be available by next week (most probably)!!
Anyway, you can call them on the free toll : 8004084
to make sure of what am saying!! DAMN, CANT WAIT!!

i bet its a scam..no way the production version will be available prior to europe. And no way they will get it prior to the agents. I'm sure u can call many retailers and they will tell u the same thing that its gonna be released earlier but i dont think so. I will believe it if i see it..

there has been a delay and it wont appear anywhere till mid jan i assume.

It may be released next week in the middle east, our SCs keep on saying end of this month. Lebanon is usually one of the fist countries to get the phones here. So let's hope so.

Its whoever buys the stock first.....sells it. And its clear that Aptec Mobiles are buying it in prior to Juma Al Majid (the SE Authorized Retailer in the UAE), and they dont have the rights to stop Aptec Mobiles from doing so (it will be a monopoly!).
Perhaps also, Aptec Mobiles is going to get the P800 through Italy, coz I heard the official release in Italy is around the corner (two weeks time).
The same incident happened upon the release of the T68m, Axiom Telecom (another major mobiles retailer) got a stock of 6000 units and sold them out before the authorized retailer launch by 1.5 months!! I got my phone from there (and it was the final product, NOT a prototype)
Maybe, or maybe not....

It's a big time scam. I just called Aptec in Dubai and they knew nothing about it. Instead - they gave me the number of the Sony Ericsson's sole agent for U.A.E. - Juma Al Majid.
So I called them and they gave me an immediate response - 'Sir, P800 is coming to U.A.E. end of January 2003, thank you for calling...'

I am starting to think that this damn phone is getting far more attention than it deserves. My two fils.

Im not trying to make you frustrated, but i really dont think this one will be released earlier than jan. If its a technical problem, forget it really, if its something else, then there is a possibility..who knows..lets wait and see..i hope u r not losing sleep over it..
or maybe too many dreams about the phone..lol..
i would really like to see when SE is going to release a 256 dou card.
