Sorry if this is in the wrong section, have searched but unable to find answer. Has any o2 user had any difficulty in receiving SMS messages? I have been unable to recieve messages for the past 3 days, but I can send them fine and my friends receive them. people tell me they have sent me a message but they do not appear.
Any ideas??
Thanks

HI,
i know the other way around - receiving yes but sending not possible - or hours, even days later. Receiving sometimes doesn`t work - this is a problem of the SMSC of O2 - that is really slow - i often had this problem - somebody send one to me but i get this later or not at all.
Well - so you can`t do something against it - just hope it will work someday...

Got it sorted. What I had to do was go into the GSM networks, then go into the select networks option. Then select another network eg one different to the one you are subscribed to. Give a couple of minutes then go back into the GSM network settings and reselect your subscribed network. Hey presto within a couple of minutes all messages were sent to my phone.

true - all thats doin is relogginh u on2 network so everything gets pushed through cos o2 smsc sees u as new user
best way 2 do it though is to turn phone off and take battery (cant say 4 sure how relevant battery bit is for t68i) n leave for 15mins then turn phone back on, this will refresh everything on your HLR which is the bets refresh available
everything will be pushed through then
i get it a lot cos i never turn me phone off at all

Yep,
I'm having this problem. In the last 2 days I've had about 300 copies of 4 messages.
If I talk to the network guys they tell me I need to upgrade my phone!!!???!!! But it's brand new.
So I rang Sony and they told me it's an O2 problem. Spoke with someone at O2 who, quite frankly barely had the brain power to put two words together, but told me that the team leader will email me with what to do.. it could take upto 5 days to fix apparently.
All this because I had them enable GPRS on my account!
