I'm currently debating whether or not to keep my T68i - the coverage around where I live is terrible, but I got such a great deal on the phone ($49) that I hate to return it...
This morning, after charging it, I started to enter a number to dial, when I noticed that the numbers appeared to be fading in and out - they looked very pale. This was a problem I had with my old Ericsson R289LX, but it usually took a year or so before that would begin to happen. With the T68i, the backlight is fine, but the numbers appeared to be very faded. Then the problem seemed to go away - also a characteristic of the R289LX. I've exchanged the phone twice already for other reasons, so I don't think thats an option. I either keep it or return it. Has anyone else expereinced this with a T68 or T68i or was it simply an optical illusion? Your input is greatly appreciated...

I dont have any problem with my lcd, maybe it's just the theme that your phone uses or the color of text is too light or maybe the lcd is defective.

Well,
In one of my conversation with SE technician, they do mentioned that in certain regions' T68i have different frimware and hardware qualities. When the first time I got my T68i, I got the problem with my backlight and LEDs on the keypad. Seems to be brighter on one side. However, I got it replaced.
If yours is under waranty, I'll suggest that you seek consultation from SE and get the necessary replacement as you are aware that T68i is a quality phone.
