Is it me, or are samsung with der s60 OS installed on the following samsung phone on this link:www.s60.mobi/vodafone is looking more and more like a nokia. I mean i can see active standby and the way its displayed on the other pics the menu etc is it all being nokifyed??

Or is this how it is like a standard format for all manufactures who use S60??

Thanks

Yes this Samsung, the I520, runs S60v.3(and it's exclusive to Vodafone right now, I think)......Samsung have had a S60 license for a couple of years now, this is their 3rd handset, the others were:

D720:

and D730(funnily enough):

hmmm....isnt the UI of nokia phones "because" of the OS and not because its how nokia intended it to be? So i assume all S60 devices regardless of manufacturer will have the same interface?

@Mr Miyagi, just to answer your question, I believe S60 phones have the same interface across brands. I saw the interface on the Panasonic X700 and the interface is exactly the same. More surprisingly, using FExplorer, I saw that the entire file structure was Nokia's, with the root folder being "Nokia".

i dont know if having the same UI is a good thing or a bad thing, because it kinda takes the uniquess off the phone away, apart from the shape and size of the phone the UI is taken away, i guess for some people it is good, since they are all going to be familiar with the same UI and you will have more options to do more stuff to your phone like for samsung phones you will be able to start installing themes etc, customising the phone.

Do you think s.e will end up having the same UI as Nokia and now as it seems Samsung, or do you think that will never change??
