@jcwhite_uk

Unfortunately, it won't be for a while yet - in Europe anyway. Its taken so long for the different organisations to agree on a standard that the EC had to intervene and warn them they are falling behind other parts of the world.

Now, that the format has been decided (dvb-h)we should expect it around this time next year.

if it is DVB-H does that mean that our normal phones wont work with it?
The web page on t-mobiles site shows a N95

I was just reading the wiki about it and I'd say not as it uses VHF/UHF and L bands

it does mention Nokia 7710, N92 and N77 as being compatible as well as a few various other phones from other manufacturers

It doesn't seem to mention t-mobile or any other UK carriers though

You can do that with any 3g phone at the moment but the quality from dvb-h will be in a whole new league - digital tv standard.

It will be 'broadcast' just like digital radio and digital tv is and picked up by the phone the same way radio is.
