phone lock?
like a pinlock? or a simlock? or a device lock? a privacy lock?
mostly if a phone is locked, it becomes delocked with a SW update.
this depends on the lvl of security/lock which is installed

by the way; welcome at esato. enjoy your stay

Hehe thanks for the welcome, back on topic, err...

It's not a simlock, more of a privacy lock, so isntead of locking pin, locks phone hehe...i contacted sony erricson they said i need to send it in to repair but there must be another way around it..a programme or something?

assuming you've tried the default 0000 then your only choice is to take it to a service centre with proof of ownership and they will reset the phone lock code to 0000

It can, you'd have to flash the phone first though before it'll give you the lock code, which means any settings or texts, contacts etc. will be wiped off the phone. But at least it'll be working again!

Btw, what phone is it you have?
