Hi there

this is being posted so that all u guys please share experience and comments on "STEREO WIDENING" feature in most of SE phones.

i have owned a W500i,w800i and now I have a K550i. As far as my experience when I switch it on, the sound seems to spread away from the buds as results in a sort of say... "like listening to a live performance ...." I don't know if its true.... but thats what I am getting in my K550i.

And in my old set w550i, when I turned that feature on all I could feel was a sudden increase in sound.......

Guys what about ur experiences ?????

Sorry in advance if this topic is already posted by someone else ........

else

pls do share ur experiences .......

.......ONE LAST THOUGHT ALSO......

??????or is it another marketing technique by SE ???????

kelvin

IMO, Stereo widening makes the sound totally crap.
I think it probably is a marketing ploy to provide another special feature in the mp3 player.

Whoever is listening to their tracks with Widening ON is only kidding themselves.

SW is just crap. It doesn't do anything to enhance sound quality. It's a very unnecessary feature I believe. SE should have just placed auto focus instead.

what it is supposed to do is alter the sound so it feels as if it is coming from further away. this is supposed to help create the illusion that actually your in a room listening to the music as opposed to just wearing earphones.

it really only works if the headphones arent already doing it for you and can handle the altered sound properly. i.e. my KOSS "The Plug" eaphones already create the illusion that you are in a large room, but my Sennheiser MX90VC headphones don't do it so much, and work very well when stereo widening is on, so I turn it on and get the same effect.

But realy its only another effect that can be applied to music, nothing fancy.
