KARACHI: Sales of low quality imitations of branded mobile phones, especially those from China, are on the rise and badly affecting the sales of the original manufacturers.
Imports of top mobile phone brands like Nokia, Sony Ericsson and others, equipped with advanced technology such as digital cameras and MP3 players are on the top.
These expensive mobile phones are very popular among the youth and for the last couple of years, their demand is on the rise.
Copies of these mobile phones, equipped with same functions and software are openly being sold in the market as they are they are comparatively much cheaper as against the original brands. In addition, shopkeepers are also offering warranties for these imitation mobiles, similar to that of branded set.

i think its the public to blame here, anyone opting for N93 should know what a N93 is. Going for a Chinese copy just shows the stupidity level of people. But then again, its SE and Nokia's job to stop these copies.

Plus the article makes out that the imitations are as good as the original and come with warranties!!
Is there anything you can't get fake in China?

I'm sure a lot of people though are conciously going for these Chinese fakes, so it at least looks like they have this high-end phone, and it'd be difficult for anyone to tell them apart.
I had a Chinese copy of the

K610i, in some ways it's build quality was quite good, though it's '2 megapixel' camera was only a rather poor VGA unit, and it's software was ripped off from old Samsungs and was rubbish!
Sold it recently, it only went for £13!

£13

Was that delivered?
I remember the black

phone that was pictured in the rumours thread. I thought that looked quite good
Made by a company called Suny Erricsun

I looked like it had a WQVGA screen.

Thankfully delivery was on top of that!

Was hoping for a bit more for it, though only paid about £40 or so for it, was a bit of an impulse purchase!
