Dups! Posts: > 500

I was just reading Stuff magazine today and came across an article that states it's body is metal. What I've known all along is that it is plastic. Can P990i owners please confirm if this is true or not. Thanks in advance.

The screen surround is metal. Stainless Steel! It was changed from P800/900/910 to stop people breaking the screen by closing the flip too hard(and probably to compete against N-series looks, who now, funnily enough, DON'T use metal any more(N73/93/95)).....

I don't think its metal, especially, NOT stainless steel.

It still feels like some plastic, somehow...

From what I've read and from the tactility of my P990 I can safely say the front frame (encompassing the screen and keyboard) is made of metal, so designed to protect the frame against cracking as a result of wear and tear from closing the flip (lesson learnt from earlier P9xx series). And this little design decision has succeeded, no screen frame crack reported AFAIK. The rest of the housing however is made of plastic.
