Hi,

where are the differences between the Hardware versions!Does anybody know?I read that R8A should have a new receive unit and a better micro (better quality).Can anybody confirm this?

I want to buy a 68i soon but ich want to have the best Hardware - especially in receive unit and so on - so if you just know which version is latest relatet to this it`s also ok,-)

Thank a lot!

T68i with hw version earlier than R4A (can exist on some units after R4A, but all should have been fixed after R7A) can have problems with signal strength and interrupting calls... this is mostly noticeable when using the phone in a "GSM office" enviroment where they work quite alot on 1800MHz.

So just be sure to get a T68i with hw R4A or later and you should be getting a nice working hardware

I have a T68i R1A for 13 months. As of yesterday my phone went to no access and it seems to be permantly now because it has been for 30 hours now, I have rebooted it like 100 times, and nothing happens. The green light blinks, the rignal bar shows 3 bars, but I cannot place or receive calls. This problem has been around for a couple of months, but now it is the first time it is lasting for so long. That's it, my phone is dead.
I just ordered a Nokia 7210 because I am left without a phone, and for the moment there is no other SE phone that worth to buy. T200 and T600 have no features plus I hate that they don't have a multi-entry phone-book, the T300 is a POS concerning the design, and the P800 is not out yet. So I had to take a Nokia which is fine with me. I am not sure if a firmware upgrade would help to solve the problem (R2E006 I have for the moment).

@cytech

Thank you for your posting.R4A i already found in a Shop here.

Do you know anything about completely new receive unit to version R4A or higher?
I will use it with a 1800 Mhz net - so it should be really perfect in quality;-)

Well,

the problem is the following : getting R4A is no problem, but R7A or even R8A i haven`t found yet - so if i buy r4a now and there are problems - do you think sonyErricson will change the phone completely to the NEW hw?

Priceless of course;-)

I just ask because the Shop havin` R4A is 100 $ cheaper;.)

if you have problems you might get your phone replaced, but there is no guarantee you'll get a later hw version then...
