...like nokia has 'lots and lots' of symbians...
agreed that nokia may have more number of models, but a handful of se symbians and that too expensive isn't encouraging...

I don't think is this
SE makes P and now M series which has symbian.
Other series like W and K are more for young people who wants to have a simple phone, not complicated like Nokias.

Fair question. I think it's strategy. Why go head on with Nokia, clearly a more established competitior where Symbian platform is concerned. Quoting max_wedge, SE is investing more of their resources and experties on non-smartphones, developing java based technology extensively, appealing to the masses offering affordable, high quality mid-range phones that are more appealing than what Nokia's similar range has to offer. While I myself am quite disappointed with SE's lack of high range technology, let's just wait and see what SE has up its sleeve

but symbian is a far wide and advanced platform than java... and development of symbian os on a day to day basis is tremendous compared to java, which is trifle...
and regarding price, nokia produces medium range symbian phones costing ~$250, having other good qualities also... and they also have mass appeal...
and i don't think se's high quality mid-range phones cost less or equal to that... so price is not an issue, imo...

one year from now, youŽll see much more symbian devices from SE on the market at the same time...it was to be this year, but they changed strategy, and it was delayed to 2008

Hi Ares,
I think what you meant to say was they had to change strategy as they got it so wrong it has taken them the best part of a Year to start getting it right. Hopefully the P1 and the next series of UIQ3 devices with new specs will be both more exciting and more stable, having said that i can't imagine it would be possible for them to be less stable than the first UIQ3 offerings.
