Phones 4u is giving away three top-end handsets for a single contract sale on Orange and Vodafone, a deal that has left network retail staff scratching their heads.
Two free Samsung E900s are being added to a free Samsung D900 for customers signing up on one contract.
Customers also claimed to have been offered three free Sony Ericsson K800s, a combination valued at £550 worth of kit.
The Vodafone deals are aimed at a parent signing up on a new contract, and taking two free phones for children on Vodafone's family package.
Similarly, the deals on Orange are aimed at signing more people up for Orange's 'magic numbers' promotion where a customer can call another designated Orange number for free, and add another one after six months.
Both network promotions are aimed at improving loyalty from prepay customers.
However, the three free phones deals are not available in either Orange or Vodafone stores.
