> P990 Sending repeated SMS
Bookmark topic
Ok, so this is getting really annoying.
I updated my P990s firmware to the latest yesterday, and ever since then(i think) its been doing this.
When i send an SMS it sends another of the same message to the same person repeatedly until i take the battery out my phone. It does this almost every time and i dont know why. I cant even check my o2 online bill to see how much its costing me because its broke(although they have stopped charging me recently so i dont really wanna fix it

)
Can anyone tell me how to fix this, i have tried reinstalling the firmware version but with no luck. I did back the phone up and restore it again so could that have an impact?
Thanks in advance, Dom

Thats really bad, all i would suggest as a temporary fix is to check if after u sent the message your message appears in your outbox, P990 will retry sending a message if first atempt fails, it sends it to outbox & as soon as an available signal is detected it automatically retries to send. i can only assume your phone has a bug in this area.
if you send a messsage, go to outbox afterwards & if its in there just delete it.
it may be worth clearing your message settings & message centre number & getting your network to resend them via an sms, but ultimately a reflash seems in order.

I remember experiencing this with my K608i back then . . . though with - MMS ! At first, all is well with the MMS that I was sending . . . then after sometime, I queued up about 5 to be sent then went to

. . . after an hour, I got a call from our landline from my aunt saying that our relatives abroad (USA) were receiving about 75 MMS that came from me

. . . I'm not sure if it had a problem with the - local network

. . . I was charged about US$ 5.00 for those UNCONTROLLABLE MMS-sends . . .
