I am using vista, K750i, (R1DB001), the camera version is 5.3
Now i wanted to update the camera driver, so for that I have to connect my phone as a flash drive.
But as soon as I connect my phone to the computer, (of course switched it off first, removed the battery, reinserted and kept the "c" pressed), the vista shows found new hardware, but even before I have time to point the wizard to USB flash driver, the phone starts it self and wizard says device disconnected. And then it shows the memory card, and phone starts up normally. Because of this I am not able to connect my phone as a flash drive. Any suggestions? (this happens every time)

You can use WMware workstation to install another operating system in your current windows. So you can edit your phone with flash drivers on XP, while having Vista installed on the HDD.

Thanks everyone for the suggestion....
As you all said, use XP, that's what I did, on my second PC.
So now, all I have to do is wait till September!! (that's what sony website says about the drivers)
On XP, it works like a breeze.....
Thanks once again.

Had the same problem as you. When the pop-up comes up to ask for Vista to search for drivers (and it takes AGES), then your phone powers up again, cancel it.

Go into Hardware Manager, and you'll see something on the lines of USB... with the yellow "!". Click on it and update driver, and from there, select where you saved the flash drivers

Took me ages to figure out, but it bypasses the stupid Vista microsoft.com search...
