> Someone sending virus!

Hey guys a few days ago i was in college and my bluetooth was on as always. Suddenly i received a file named jkfuydrd.sis,Size unknown and i was sure that it was a virus coz my friend has a nokia 6600 with anti-virus and while receiving he detected a virus. So i canceld it i searched for a bluetooth device but found nothing. Can someone one tell what this mess is??

someone was sending you a symbian file. this will not do anything as your phone doesnt work with those files. only on symbian phones.

Its most likely a S60 virus. An infected phone will constantly beam them to every phone in the area... Old symbian phones sometmes automatically download them and get infected. The average SE (non UIQ) phone has nothing to fear from these...
(I have two saved on my phone... they got sent to me when I was using my bt at a railway station a few months back...)

I´ve seen ppl with their BT on all the item without having any bt device, i say like...what for?? wasting more battery and being capable of getting hacked. i´ve heard that theres a program capable of stealing your minutes and access your files, make calls from your cell, etc.

der are ways of hacking into your moblie and making calls without you knowing, i watched it on this programme on tv. My advice is always to switch off your bluetooth when not using it, and if you do have to have it on, have it on secure mode, so no other unauthorised device can see it.

I've saw the same thing with my friend's 6600. The phone keeps sending .sis file with unknown filename all the time to the available bluetooth devices in the area. Anyway, an ordinary (non-symbian) SE phone CANNOT be infected in any way from the Symbian 60 viruses. So there's nothing to worry.
