> Problems with K750i -Camera not taking pictures

Ive tried searching the forums using the "search" feature but I cannot find a problem like mine, only one that involves flickering.
A drunk friend of mine through my phone across the room. At first everything seemed ok, but my Memory Stick Duo somehow is missing and I have a camera problem.
The camera opens fine enough, I can see everything on the screen, but when I take a picture it focuses, shows the yellow rectangle, but never takes the picture, nor freezes the screen to indicate its trying to take it. I first thought I must still be in "save on MSD" mode, but I am in save to phone mode.
When I restart it it seems to do alright, but days later it will do it again.
I thought I was at the latest firmware and everything. Is this a hardware issue, and should I strangle my friend for money for a new phone, besides strangling him for throwing it in the first place? (And i mean WHIPPING, not tossing)
I also apologize if this is a commonly answered question, I really did use the search feature and search google before posting. I also figure the general board would be a wide net I could throw my question to.
I have looked at the following topics already, to name a few, but none seem to address my specific problem, just the flickering one already mentioned.

Try master resetting the phone first. It may solve the problem.

i was facing a problem like yours yesterday. i had my cousin's d750(turned into
800). the problem was that when he took photos the camera used to go back to normal. so i changed the camdriver but the problem was still there. i decided to flash the phone with a R1DB001 firmware and it got solved.
so you may try the same
note: it's not a yellow rectangle, it's green

its a hardware issue, the camera flex need replacing. it should take a photo in panorama mode (it works for me) and takes videos.
i only know that as i have one which has the same problem but with the added bonus of it taking green pics and videos

When i take the picture in normal mode after i press the button it makes the sound like taking the picture and exists to the menu and it's not saving nothing,. VIdeos are working just fine

Well i really don't know because i bought it on ebay so i really don't know, but i'm determined to fix it..by buing parts and stuff.
I upgraded to the last version from R1A044 to R1CA021 but none of the problems were fixed
keys 3,6,9,# are not working at all
joystick is ..reallly barelly responding to the commands (hardware problem for sure, i've found an ebay inner joystick)
camera is NOT saving pictures only in PANORAMA mode...
I guess some liquid has been spilled over it because the LCD has a difference of luminosity in the lower part like a staint
So as i want to learn repairing phones...this will be a good subject, so anyone willing to help me on these ones..please post

Ouch, sorry to hear that. You should definitely beat the crap out of your mate for chucking it. Pick him up and toss him across the room and see how much he likes that lol.
Like what others have said already, prolly try a master reset, and if that fails, re-flash.
