Hi I am about to buy a new phone & have shortlisted the SE K750i..I have 2 questions though...Can I use mp3 ringtones as SMS alerts? And is the loudspeaker volume loud enough to play mp3 songs outdoors, say,as compared to a Nokia 6233?
Anybody who owns a K750i and can help me would be highly appreciated.Thanks.

I think the K750 is great phone at all. It is loud enough and you can use mp3 songs as ringtones too.

Yes and yes
You can use mp3 files for sms alert. And as long as you set the volume to full it is plenty loud enough outside, although if it isn't you can also set all bars of the graphic equaliser in the media player up to full to make it that extra bit louder too

Yes It is just one off problem...
I have been using K750i for more then a 1 and a half year and haven't found any problems what so ever with it.
In my opinion, EXCELLENT PHONE.
If you want still louder voice, then try putting the phone with some thing hollow below it, Like your palm or a small lid, just below the speaker. It gives good depth. And then, you can always patch the phone for still louder voice.

in 4 days i'll be having 1 year with my second hand k750 and it's worked fine with the joystick. so i think it is up to the usage you give to the joystick. and yes, the phone is great.

the SE k750i is a good phone. The mp3 songs are loud enough to play outside and they can be used as ringtones

careful handling will prolong the joystick's life...
the playback volume is not loud at all, although some patch can correct it a bit... if you are a music fan then you'd go for w810i...
