> My hard disk aint working no more!

i have a portable 80gb hard disk from Smart Drive.ive been using for abt 2 months now.
the HD was always kept in the PC stand and i only move it when i want to connect it to my laptop.
yest i plugged it and my flash drive to the Laptop and transfered some files.it was kept on the bed,but after sometime the folders were empty in it so i replugged it and drive has never appeared since then!
i tried in with my PC too...but in vain.
i can hear a small click sound frm the HD when i keep it close to my ears!
do you think its stuck or something??
i can get it replaced since i took it frm my dads friends store,but my DATA! i had around 72 gb of files!....
guys is there anyway i can retrieve my files or make this thing work?
i have NEVER dropped it btw.

so I asked for the biggest at present, it was a 750 GB
and costs around: US$ 477.00

any solutions?
i hear there is a place here where they retrieve all the data from damaged HDD...but it costs more than the price of the drive!!
