when i click a pic of an object at a dist of 3cm or less-away from lens with macro mode on, the autofocus beep doesnot sound even after 8-10 seconds and i am getting a blurred image. Please help me out!

my k750i does the same thing. i think you are holding the phone to close to the object that you want to take a pic of

i am holding the phone the same distance as i was holding it before and the resulting pictures were relatively sharp and clear.
BTW Can u post some pics from ur k750, it will be good if the obj is at a distance of 2 cm from the lens? Thanks in advance for ur help.

Don't be forgetting that the W810
isn't a professional camera. Therefore it's focussing distance would be reduced compared to a high end SLR camera.

it also happens with my k750. imo, you should focus an object, not letters.

The macro focus won't focus good in distances closer than 10cm. That's why the picture is out of focus, as you mentioned that you were holding the phone on 2cm distance from the letters.
