Anyone knows if this GPS will use the high sensitivity SiRF Star III chip?
If it will use that, this accessory will be a really fat piece of gadget to have!!

Hi all,
May be missing some thing here but why is there a need for this it is easy to buy a good GPS receiver quite cheaply and I'm sure you will pay a premium for the SE badge although i admit i would rather see this than GPS being built in every device. Lastly the Sirf111 chip set is not the best the RFMD chip in some receivers has faster acquisition and better sensitivity so works inside i know as my Holox BT-321 has this chip and is excellent.

ok. so if you want to use gps you have to use these headphones which seems a bit strange place to put it. would think a small bt module would be better or a some fast port module like the fm transmitter which does gps would more useful....

Can anyone explain how this works?
The SE website says it works with the W880i and K800i and many others so what do you have to do to get GPS maps on these phones then?

they'll probably start promoting some GPS java app on their website with the reciever, im gessing its gonna cost a bit (the app), gps apps arent cheap, if you have a smartphone tho, just use tomtom 5, im using it with my p990, works great.
