I was wondering is it possible to just create a long mms with this phone?
when I go into "create new" in the messaging menu the options are "Message", "Voice Message" and "Email". If I select "Message" then no matter how many characters I enter it remains a long sms as opposed to switching over to mms. The only way Ive found to change it to mms is to add some non-sms content, but this pushes the message above 1kb which defeats the purpose of using mms for long text messages.
I've got a phone branded to Vodafone Ireland (would debranding it affect this at all?)

branding is your problem - the write new menu should
have an entry "picture msg" as the second option !
