Well i think it is time to compare these 2 phones!

Which do you think is the best phone? (include the parameter of 'release date' and 'price' too )

iphone is just a hyped product.

Looking at the specs I tend to favor the W960. But I think Apple will win in terms of sales because of their superior marketing/branding, especially in the USA.

when the I phone was anounced I thought wow that is for me.

on reflection I am now not keen it is very expensive, its linked to itunes only (as far as I know) proprietory OS so no 3rd party apps?, No Wi Fi, cant change the battery, and it's not one thing or another, I have the W950 and the W960 looks even better too me.

As I see it the W960i has the following over the iPhone:
3G
MMS,
keyboard
better camera (2mp on iphone with no autofocus compaired to 3mp with autofocus)
possible to use third part apps.

The iPhone has the following over the W960i:
better user interface,
EDGE
better screen

Personally i'd go for the W960i as well. I considered the iPhone when it was announced, but then so much progress has been made since then by other brands including SE, and now they've caught up and even surpassed the iPhone.

Besides, i beware of Apple's relative lack of experience building mobile phones. Maybe the iPhone will miss some vital phone-related functions, though i don't doubt it will be a top-notch offer on the multimedia side.

As much as I love a touchscreen, you need a decent tactile keyboard as well, so my money would definitely be on a UIQ3 device.

The iphone is interesting, but definitely over-hyped, and I'm not at all convinced the niche is there for it. It's not smart enough for a smartphone, not simple enough to match the ipod's appeal, and not in any way unique - in fact, it's entering a market that the Walkman phones already dominate.

obviously iphone needs to learn how to make mobile phone, as this is their first relase. unreplacable battery is a very old fashioned technology. in addition, in terms of connectivity, W960 has the edge over it

The W960i has shown that you can still have fancy sweeping graphics on your UI without having to give up the traditional numberpad.

Apple are taking a risk ditching the keypad altogether but if it pays off for them then it'll be amazing.
