Hi,

On another well know SE french forum, a famous SE worker said that R6D23 would be the VERY LAST update for this model...

I can't even believe it as many bugs still remain, and this also would mean we'll never see any bunch of integrated Voip...

Less than 1yr after the commercial release, the software would be abandonned...this make sense in some way as UIQ 3.1/3.3 are at the door (se will focus on them) but i can't believe they'll leave us behind

Should this appear to be true, I really do think we should contact our local consumers organisations or even rethink the class action.

The more things goes (new models with more ram confirm SE made a major hardware design fault with ealry uiq3 models), the more I think we've really been sold a bunch of crap, that will never be close of what the P series were/are/should be.

You wouldn't mind sharing a link to this information?

I compared this with the K750/W800 Firmware thread. It looks like the K750 received software support for almost one and a half years.

Il n'y aura plus de mise à jour pour ce modèle après celle-ci.

means : "There won't be any updates for this model after this one"

I strictly doubt, the software is still very buggy and far from normal 'unbuggy' usage by average user !!

If SE leaves us with the current state of P990 then each P990 owner should be rewarded with a new SE smart phone, of course at SE's cost, that will officially replace this phone. If SE ignores the P990 owners most of whom bought this phone due to loyalty to SE and believing that all known bugs will be debugged then we should boycott the SE product. What do you think?

if that's true someone at SE is gonna get stabbed soon, i aint living with the space bar phone call bug, plus opera mobile will keep updating, we need to update aswell, ever scince I bought the P990, ive been getting the feeling that P990 users were beta testers for the upcoming p1 and w960, and trust me, that isnt a very nice feeling

Yeah...i bought the phone for Rs35k officially...now its Rs15k officially.
Had a buggy phone all this while...restarts,application reboots, alarm bugs waking me up in the middle of the night, low ringtone sound leading to miss calls, poor autofocus...yet was confident SE will fix them.
We acted as their UIQ3 beta tester aka guinea pig thus helping them make UIQ3.x better.

I say...fix this phone or give us the next P series for free.No...not P1i.

Why do this thread look too nostalgic? (P800-----P900 guinea pigs dilemma)?
