Bought a tv at the start of April from Argos.
It was supposed to be a HD- Ready 19" samsung lcd tv, but have recentley found out that its not actually hd-ready and have just looked on the website and its not advertised as HD-Ready anymore, however in the catologue ive got it is...
was wondering if anyone knowd if ill be able to return it and swap it for HD- Ready tv of the same price.
i seem to recall someone here working at argos?
thanks
jack

Yeah, you can do that! If they give you any problems, just tell them you will take legal actions, you'll call Trading Standards and BBC Watchdog!!! That will scare them off for sure! I've done it many times even if I wasn't right... LOL

If it was sold to you as HD-ready and it wasnt then they must agree to refund your your money as it has been mis-sold to you. If they refuse then threaten them with trading standards.
I would take a copy of the catalogue with you as proof.
What tv was it?

here in holland
you do have the right to return internet sales within 30days, whenever it doesn't meet the requirments/specs as advertised.
think when you're dealing with a TV (something big) you should have the right... just contact their customers support

Technically the one you have is HD but only through a VGA(DVI) input... So they might well tell you it's your own fault for not checking the connections...

That is exactly what i was going to say
Though i'm too sure how clued up Argos staff are on the ins and outs of TV connections.....
Though how is it taken you this long to figure its not HD ready

Surely you could tell when you played your 360

Once twice, three times a lady.
But it displays HD resolutions and can go through component. Have you clicked the HDTV switch on your 360 Video Lead?
