I have a couple of videos in .avi format, is there any way to convert them in the DVD format so my DVD player will be able to play them?

if they are xvid encoded avi's, then they should play just fine on a normal dvd player.

if u have windows xp, just right click file -> Properties -> Summary and under video compression, it should say XVID. You can also get this information from your software player by checking the properties of the file. BTW, only newer dvd players support xvid playback, so first test if it can or check the manual.

You also cant play xvid files in a normal dvd player at all. I recommend you buy a divx dvd player. This means you can play avi files with out the need to encode them to vob (dvd) format
