Does anyone know for sure what the default pin code is for your lock on your phone for "Phone Protection" ?
Also how many people bother with it?
Looking through the manual on my Sony Ericsson K810i, there is'nt any information on it.

0000 rings a bell. I use both the phone and SIM lock on my phone. I never turn it off, so it's no hassle.

phone lock has always been 000 on all SE phones, and I'm sure most if not all Ericssons too
I use it and I also set the protection on so that when the sim gets changed it prompts for the phone lock code automatically

Another thing I'd like to ask to see if anyone knows for sure is say the handset gets locked due to putting in a incorrect pin how would you go about getting it unlocked? I did once years ago lock a handset through putting in an incorrect "sim pin" and got that unlocked through o2 (the network) but what about a phones pin? through Sony Ericsson?
Phone and Sim Protection both on together does sounds better obviously then noone can put your sim inside another handset.
How do you get the phone to ask for the pin after you can unlocked the key lock say for example someone picks up your phone, how do you prevent them from using it without having to enter your pin, or cant you do that?

Yes I know if you enter the PUK code wrong 10 times in a row your end up having to get a new sim card. That information is on my networks website as well as getting the PUK code. Getting a PUK code is easy I see as long as you know your number.
What I'd like to know is how do you get the handset to ask you for your pin code say when you unlock the key lock.
For example in the situation where you leave you phone somewhere and someone picks it up. How do you stop them from using your phone to make calls, look into your phone book, messages etc?
Also, whats the difference between PIN and PIN2? I see this Sony Ericsson K810i has both.

I see, it's a shame SE phones cant "lock" your phone when not in use i.e when you have it keylocked.
I'm still not sure exactly what PIN1 and PIN2 mean to be honest. Anymore specific details would be helpful. I'm on the o2 UK network and it's a prepay sim if that helps.
