I'm not trying to debate which phone is better with this topic but more to highlight the loyal fan base for the P series - this is still the best forum on the net i believe with so many loyal and dedicated UIQ users

i've always been a P series fan (had the P800, P900 & P910) and then i bought the P990 on the day of release last year - stuck with it, got annoyed with it's issues and sold it 2 months ago for the N95 - i hated Nokia but this phone seemed to be giving me all i wanted, yet i'm now about to put the N95 on ebay and just bought a second hand (but immaculate) P990i for £130 from the same site!!

the temptation to come back and use the P990 was too great, i know some people will think i'm an idiot with all it's flaws but i am and always will be a P series fan - they are still (in my opinion) the best phones you can get at this time

i think some of the heated debates on here amplify the love for the UIQ line of phones

and a link if anyone wants to buy the N95 here..

You're not an idiot!
It is still amazing phone, now very reliable. Even with it's flaws, it's absolutely all-round device.
I occasionally get angry with some issues, in the end Pseries is still the best for me.

I'm sure you realize by now that stability is barely an issue anymore but if you want multitasking, you have to be prepared to reboot your phone every other day for optimal performance because if you notice, the memory leak is still there. Otherwise, enjoy and welcome home mate.

@mode

thanks - always did a daily check on here from my N95 to see the latest with the P990i - i'm happy to reboot every few days as long as i'm using a P series again

Just dont be tempted to upgrade it to R6. This awful FW has castrated my phone! I can no longer use the phone when TomTom is selected, BT conectivity is not less than reliable and scheduling email downloads seems to be a thing of the past.

@macjasp

That is certainly a crazy price and i don't think you are mad either, it's simply a case of what you prefer and like and if the P990 siuts you best then i hope you are very happy with it.

I don't use TomTom and BB so can't say about it but scheduling pop3 e-mail works normally.
With R6 autofocus is very good now, opera simply amazing (via wifi) and wifi connection further from AP very stable (I live on the 8th floor but can normally browse internet while on the street in front of the building).
At the end welcome back mate. I have read dogmann's N95 review and can see that it is super phone, no doubt (I would acctually like to play with it) , but can understand your love for P serie.
