Hello fellow fans.

I desparately need your help, DESPARATELY!

I bricked my 2 week old K790a trying to upgrade my Rogers Wireless branded firmware to a generic USA Red on using DaVinci Client 22.21.

I've used DaVinci successfully before when I owned a rogers w810 branded but that was last year on client 13.7 when 10 credits gave you 10 try's.

This is what I started with when I bought my K790a.

Rogers Wireless branded:

* I then tried to goto EROM upgrade to the latest & selected:
K790a Red CID52 CDA102535/301 R1JG001 GENERIC USA

> I got no errors on Davinci. I tried to power up my phone AFTER reseating my battery and I get the famous error " configuration error. please contact your service provider or service center." Whats weird is I tap the powerbutton I can switch profiles, the device CAN get the signal as well. I think my original firmware was CID51 not CID52.

GDFS, AMR=ON where checked along with Finalization as well.

Can anyone provide useful help?
I tried the SE Updater Tool it to didn't give an error but also same old error upon phone bootup.

Please Help .... I missed out on taking photos of Summer Soltice Evening - beautiful sunset too!

but I already have 10 credits left on DaVinci ....

Also I don't have PayPal setup yet but will after tonight .

For those going to search & find this thread in the future ..... something I found on SE-NSE home site ....

CID51 or CID52? You should not flash an FS file, otherwise you will get an error upon startup!

^ That right THAR ! I didn't see this before I tried and probably bricked my phone BUT I tried just one last time with DaVinci without FS checked .... looked like it was gonna work.

THANK you very much. Its just that my K790 is only 2 weeks old and I already have issues with the Trackball on my BB Pearl so that backup is useless.

Hope it works. If youre gonna use PhoneXS++ remember to install the USB flash drivers, and it may take up to 5 hours
