Hi,

Sorry to start a new thread, but I've been extensively looking for a clear answer and found none.

My problem is : i lately upgraded my K750i FW to R1DB001 using SE update service. I still had the original FW from when i bought the phone in June 2005. I notice that since upgrading, the media player produces a background noise when using earphones (especially audible on quiet songs).

I read that FW R1CA021 was the best FW in terms of sound quality, is there anyway to revert partly to R1CA021, at least for the sound ? (I want to keep the other additions and improvements of R1DB001, it's only the sound quality that is poor)

I read about changing the so-called "acoustic" files, but answers are contradictory, not everyone agrees on the best method.

Now i'm not even sure if my phone is CID36 or even earlier (since i bought it 1 month or so after release). I have FAR manager, and SEFP 10044 and 10056.

Can anyone with a successful experience help on this ?

hi, benito!

im sure your phone is CID36 as mine as well. both are from 2005. if you want to try a different acoustic im able to give you some.

as you said you have some SEFP's, you should read this before changing the acoustic.

Hi Tranced, thanks for the info.

I had seen that thread before and actually did the whole procedure described. After i select K750_K800cid36 from the list and then plug my phone holding C, i reach the screen where on the left there is the phone contents, and it shows FS and FLASH.

When i double-click on FS, there comes an error message and the contents of FS are empty. Same when i click on FLASH.

Fortunately, nothing happened to my phone, but i'm now looking for a reliable way to have a great sound quality again. Can't believe SE messed up this last FW so bad and there'll be no more FW updates....

If you personally know the trick, pls let me know, otherwise i'll keep looking and trying... txs a lot for your help anyways

i have the 10051 by Darkmen, is that one the latest ? cause i unzipped it into Far Manager/plugins and when using Far Manager, Alt+F1, i pick the second SEFP from the list (1st one doesn't propose any choice of Boot script at all), and then i can choose from abt 20 boot scripts, including some named k750_R1CA021_something. there are also a couple called k_00-CID36v3 or v4.

Man, i have no idea which one i must use !!

yeah, that's the latest. you have to place the SEFP folder in Plugin folder like this

i'll relocate the SEFP properly and try again...
