> Nokia N95 - Locked to Vodafone UK - Unlock?
Bookmark topic
Can this phone be unlocked. (It's a Vodafone upgrade - contract)
The catch is, I'm buying it off eBay; therefore I will not be the original owner of the contract - will this matter?
Can you just ring up Vodafone and pay the £20?
What about links like this on eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/UNLOCK-[....]egoryZ3312QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
This legit?
Thanks

yes.
Just call them and they'll ask for the imei. Or you can ask the guy to unlock it for you before sending it or at least request the unlock code.
Oh and the n95 is free to unlock on contract usually.
I had 4 on contract and they were all unlocked free.

Thanks for the reply.
What about these things on eBay then, are they a scam?

i had a w900i and a n73 and both were umlocked for free via vodafone, just give em a ring, if you have to pay then you have to pay simple as really, personlly i wouldnt trust a software unlock for a bb5 phone, like is says on the advert "NOTE FOR BUYERS: THIS SOFTWARE WORK 60% TIMES NOT 100%" and both times ive rang vodafone they told me the code right away over the phone instantly

Ta muchly, I'll try it from my other phone and just give the the IMEI first, see if I can convice them to do it free - if not I suppose I don't mind coughin' up I got the N95 cheap enough anyway.
Thanks for all the help, I'll post back and let everyone know how I get on; once I get the phone on Monday!
