Possibly looking for a new digital camera because, well, I haven't got one.

Wouldn't mind something up to about 8mp, any recommendations?

I just got the Sony DSC-T100 this week. Its 8.1mp, 5x optical zoom, nice and compact, face recognition, stabilisation, nice big 3" lcd viewer etc etc and you can get it for around £220 on ebay from a uk seller

so far I'm pretty happy

I like the Panasonic Lumix range. I have DMC-FX8 currently and so far it's been a great camera!

@procter - How I wish that our resident-photographer: marlonski is actively participating in the forums at present he knows much with photography . . .

Well anyways, I had this dilemma too last year . . . and : messeur just helped with it . . .

He suggested this site:

www.dpreview.com

When it comes to choosing a BRAND . . I will just go with ONE of these:

1. Nikon

2. Canon

3. Olympus

Good Luck !

first of all what will you do? Why do you have to buy a digi cam..think of that first...if you want it just for taking pictures of yourself, family etc etc...go for the cheap one Polaroid...if you want it for a hobby go for the big ones...

@belia - DIGICAM is the IN-thing now mate ! Also, some are being sold at a cheap price (promo etc.) . . . why bother going to the old-ones which still uses a film on it, and the likes of the - Polaroid

Cheers for your help guys, can always rely on my fellow esatonians lol. I want a camera to take good quality photos, it would be for parties, holidays etc but I live right by blackpool airport and the red arrows are always taking off from there so would be ace to get some good shots of them.

I've seen the Canon IS850 (7.2mp) looks nice, that may be ok. Just keeping my options open.

I love landscape pictures, trees and stuff, so want it to be able to Hi Q pictuires of that.
