hey guys
does any 1 know sm thing abt bluetooth radar..i heard its application by which u can detact where is another bluetooth fone is relative 2 ur position...

no dude u dint get me...its like a radar..means u will know exactly where that fone is...like if ur friend is lost in a shoping mall then u can search him with this application...as it tells the exact location of the fone

You can search devices with your built in bt browser - the one you use when adding new bluetooth device to your phone to send files, but I find it USELESS if you want to browse for phones all the time. Because once it checks all freqientions it stops browsing and displaying the results. There was a java application named BTExplorer which has the search option, but it's the same useless. It searches only once. The guy was asking for application that searches for bluetooth devices all the time and when one is found, then show the results...

BT Discover is exactly what you want, it constantly searches then when it finds one it writes the device name(if close enough) and bluetooth address to a text file in others, it rumbles when it finds one, and it just keeps searching constantly.
Unfortunately you have to exit the app to be able to read the text file
oh, and it's foreign too, but easy to figure out.

range is too short. If he were lost in a shopping mall he'd be too far away for bluetooth to reach him!
If he were close enough you could just yell out his name and he'd hear you easily!

I would say it was impossible as your own BT device would need three reference points to take a 'reading' from, for it to be able to calculate the distance and direction.
Can't think of an application for it though - with it being such short range, unless someone Bluejacked you and you wanted to know what they looked like.
