Hi Guys,

Sorry if this is in the wrong place- I didnt have any idea on which forum to put this in!!

I have just got a w900i off E-bay, and when I record video- the automatic shot setting is on MMS- which means I can only record videos for 7 seconds.
I can change this by click settings>shot settings>Normal

But as you can understand- it takes the mickey to be doing this every time I want to record video!!

Is there anyway to override this setting or am I stuck with it?

hi and welcome. it seems to be a bug. you would fix this by performing a master reset.

I have done a master reset of the settings- would I have to do one of the files too?

i meant the Reset All one. if this doesnt fix your problem i think you should flash/upgrade your firmware.

you can use SEUS the sny ericsson update service at sonyericsson.com, wotanserver.com or davinciteam.com to flash your firmware

This isn't a bug at all. If sounds like you have a UK branded W900i which defaults to taking Videos small enough to post by MMS.

Its just the default setting imposed by Vodafones branding who were the only network to dish out this phone in the UK; You probably have Vodafone's email settings and Instant messenger settings embedded on your phone too.

All UK W900i's are the same and the only way to rid yourself of this is to debrand your phone using one of the services mentioned above. Easily done.

Unfortunately, there is no UK W900i firmware version but if you choose a European version, such as Scandinavian, you will find they all have the English language on them so no problem there.

Good luck matey!

I've tried to update it using SEUS, selected United Kingdom English, it gets to 95% then tells me it cant go any further, no I have a screen that keeps having a bright white screen.

BUGGER!
