i want to uninstall windows XP but keep ALL the files. i have 2 partitions...on C i have the XP and on D i have Vista...can anyone help me...i want to keep the VISTA by the way...i just to delete the XP operating system

you will have to backup all the files on XP on disc or memory card depends what format you have.

then I think if you insert your XP re-install disk follow setup theres a option to delete it have a try goodluck

i'll give it a try... but to backup all the files i will need 11 DVD's so can i just copy them all tho another hard disk? and which files do i have to keep and which to delete?

OK here's what StrizloW800 told me...that i can upgrade it to VISTA...actually that was what i wanted...but do i get to keep ALL and i mean ALL the files...including settings...users and everything...drivers?

Just copy all of your important files to the other hard drive first in case the upgrade fails. Trust me on this
