Hi, I have an ericsson T39 on Orange, and I have (finally) managed to convince it to send emails, but now it only sends the first 93 characters, and gives up!
Does anyone know why this is or have a similar problem. Could it be some kind of size limit? If so why doesn't it affect the size of incoming emails?
Cheers!

Just 93 characters? Hmmm ... What's your smtp server? And what input language do you use?

Hi GOwin,
input language is t9 english and smtp server is smtp.orange.net... it's been 93 characters every time, though now it doesn't want to send at all! (Just a temporary random orange error i hope).
Cheers

I used to own a T39 but I don't remember the maximum number of characters I can send in one mail.
On the T68 the limit is 302 characters.

hmm, I don't think it is a phone problem because there is character limit (haven't counted or looked it up, but ~ 300 is the right sort of ball park), which it warns you about when you get close to it. It starts to count down the number of characters left. But it lets you go past 93 characters, and just cuts off whatever is over that limit. So I reckon it is a server problem of some sort, but I haven't a clue what it would be exactly...
I was hoping someone else would have had the same trouble, but a quick search of the net says otherwise.
Cheers

in that case, try a different smtp server to confirm it.

OK, will do, but my phone is still being useless. Not sure what I've done, but once I've got it right again I'll try another sever.
