At first I was thinking it was my new handset not working properly..
then after several calls to people I know on Orange it seemed the call quality was a disgrace the people on the other end cannot hear me / theres some hiss..

but after phoning a few landlines the calls are perfect,
but calling someone on Orange it's a joke..

I don't know what to do lol

any ideas or suggestions guys..
I do not think myphones at fault I was seriousley gonna go into a 02 shop and tell them but maybe they'd just think im being paranoid that it's the phone

Having worked for Orange, i can assure you its definitely Orange at fault here.

They reception is pretty poor in certain areas, (and thats in london) and signal loss and hissing are a common complaint with Orange.

LOL and to think those Orange users are blaming my phone

Im not to far from Kiddeminister and the people im phoning are in the Smethwick area of Birmingham so the call quality really is a disgrace,
it's not so bad phoning someone in Blackheath on Orange but occassionally im asked to repeat myself

Orange really gone down the hill where I am now...

btw another thing I thought was maybe 02 dont like me phoning Orange cos ive got 15 hours off peak mins a month

Well from experience Orange i say normally has very clear call quality and i would say its normally the best but sometimes there is an awful robotic twang to speech in busy areas like a rustic sound. But i am now on O2 they are fine but sometimes a little noisy when it comes to call quality so maybe its both networks to blame. I seem to notice at busy times speech quality on all networks can go down. Maybe its that i dont know.

I seem to remember hearing something about it being partially to do with the 1800Mhz frequency that Orange (and T-Mob) uses, and that it doesn't travel as well through buildings and obstructions as well as the 900 Mhz GSM frequency that O2 and Voda use, not sure if that's true or not!

@Sammy_boy :
True, "good old" 900 Mhz GSM is better for calls inside buildings.
