Well, i think smart's target it to provide network coverage to everyone in the phils. at the cost of slower service like sms is recieved longer compared to globe. Ideal for people living in the province. Globe on the other hand provides faster service but at the cost of lesser network coverage. Ideal for people in cities

both providers have their own strengths as well as weaknesses. cant really say which one is better. but more people are using globe nowadays.

My wife and i are travellers, from vigan to lamitan and the rest of the philippines, we discovered globe has better coverage than smart since we use both and check out www.gsmworld.com and compare both- and did you know Digitel is now setting up its own cellular network? Dey promise cheaper rates daw and better coverage sa provinces. Let's just wait and see .

I use both SPs and yeah there're areas where globe's signal is stronger and others where smart is. Service and VAS-wise, seems almost identical to me. Except 4 some noticeable differences: Smart doesnt charge sms to other networks within free allocation, globe does. Globe's wapping via gprs is stl free, smart is suppose to be charging already.

Great topic, im using globe and d service s ok, i sampled smart wap/gprs service n its ok 2, i gues globe has d edge ryt now. It all dpends on d marktng n innovativ skils of ppol nchargd of both telcos 2 kip ppol ntrestd. A new player n d telco ndustry wil provide stiffer competition n mprove standards.
