I have a problem with my backup facility.

I'll backup the phone using the backup manager in PC Suite and it takes ages to complete a FULL backup.

Now when I do a master reset or an internal reset I should be able to restore my settings, saved messages, contacts etc.. from the backup.
But instead the phone hangs on the screen, "restore in progress" even when the computer says that the restore was completed successfully.

If I unplug the phone from the computer it restarts and though and behold, nothing has been backed up. If I leave it nothing happens.

Whats going on?

I have the world generic 1 CDA and the latest firmware the dreaded R6D23.

Anyone else having the same problem? if so how do you overcome it?

I had the same issue with the P910 backup app. Turned out that my ancient pc wasn't up to the job -- not enough RAM or hard disc space (not sure which) to restore both phone and memory stick contents in one go.

Anyway, the workaround was to simply back up the phone on its own and do the memory stick separately (which, with a USB2 card reader is a much quicker job anyway).

If, however, you've got a reasonably up-to-date pc, this won't be your issue.

Thanks for the reply, but my computer is up to speed.
I also only tried to back up the phone without the memory card in because I didn't want to risk losing all my data on the card.
