One minute SE states that there would be updates for the other phones, but they would not have any updates for m600?

ok the phone is much much much much better that the first firmware, but again is not as it should have been !

Honestly i have been buying Sony since 2001, if an update comes out for the other phones and not for M600 i will not buy from them again...
Enough is enough...

I was angry before but now it's funny how se plays with their Customers!
I will buy another se phone ofcourse but if they do something like this again that would be my last se phone. I think we should start the thread at se dev forum just in case they can "hear us".

is there a specific list of problems for M600 that need to be resolved like there is for P990? though I expect there will be some commonality

well there are always problems.

like for example when the volume is at full, the sound of the melody comes disorted, or with the somwewhat low volume of alarms....

for me the m600 was my dream phone, it was from my p900 days that i dreamed a phone without a flip but that would be touchscreen...

However it has been a nightmare till it has came to its present somehow stable situation...

Its just not right to wait for the consumers to tell you the mistakes. The company should know the faults without the consumers telling them... You have to be proactive !

well, as a software developer myself there is only so much testing you can do unless you have unlimited resources and funding. Real world testing is how software gets better.

While microsoft can have alpha and beta testers testing new operating systems for years, mobile phone manufacturers don't have that luxury since the market is so competitive and new products need to be released in much shorter time spans.

Obviously SE will build on their knowledge from the first gen UIQ3 phones when they release these next batch, they won't be starting again, so clearly we can expect some more stable devices IMHO

in the meantime I am still very happy with my M600!

true, but the development period of a product should still be determined by the time that is required to make a device work as it is supposed to.

a customer support, which leaves a lot to be desired, followed by premature abandonment of a product is not the way to go...

of course, only if a company is aimed at a good reputation, resulting in long-term success.

yes, agreed in the perfect world, but name a phone manufacturer that works by that principle?

and SE is getting more and more successful all the time so it seems that this isn't an issue that affects success. Nokia have also proved that too!
