Hi, I bought my k800 about a year ago, and have had no major problems so far, until the other day the screen broke somehow - I asked around on this forum when that happened, and thought that was the only problem. Since I had no screen I had no way of checking my messages, so last night swapped my vodafone SIM into a friend's phone. When I replaced it in mine, it failed to turn on. Ive left it chargingfor a few hours but it still won't turn on. The only response is a red flashing light visible when you hold the phone at an angle and look through the infra-red port. Any ideas what's wron?
Thanks a lot

Upgrade the EROM at www.wotanserver.com . Buy a 7 Euro credit and hope the phone works just fine. Good luck.

I was just about to post saying I'd found the FAQ, Bezz

Thanks a lot, its all fine now. Well the screen's still broken but ive got a replacement on order. Really worried me, I bought the phone off ebay, it was an unwanted contract upgrade so I had no proof of purchase and they wouldnt replace it free at the Vodafone shop...

Cheers:)

Can someone answer my question PLEASE . I asked this but no one gives me the correct answer (no answers at all):

Many of you say to upgrade the EROM to avoid bugs and issues like this (dead phonea and etc...), but I want to ask: Which version of EROM is the buggy one? And I have:

EROM: R3A022
Firmware: R1JG001

So is this EROM new enough or I should update?

P.S. And another question that scares me:

- Does this firmware has the "Operation failed in games/applications" bug, and what causes it to appear?

I hope I will get my unanswered questions solved soon .

The buggy EROM is R3A011. It may cause dead phone in some cases. Then, SE releases R3A016 that fixes this problem. As K810 is out, newer EROM version R3A022 is released. So far, no problems have been reported yet. So, your EROM R3A022 is the latest, don't worry, but your firmware R1JG001 is not. Do an update to R1KG001 to get better overall performance.
And I have no enough knowledge about what exactly causes Operation Failed, whether it is the EROM or the firmware as it happens in random. As long as your EROM and firmware are the latest, why should worry? Hope it helps you.

@aremaboy: - Thanks a lot for the info man... I was worried mostly about the EROM, but as it is the latest version, now I am much more by myself . And, I'll try updating the firmware tommorow... It's too late now (01:40am). I have to SLEEP .

@aremaboy: "And I have no enough knowledge about what exactly causes Operation Failed, whether it is the EROM or the firmware as it happens in random." - In my opinion, the error is in the firmware, not the EROM, but the mistery is WHY and WHERE exactly in the FW it appears so we can try to do something to fix it. And I think it is the firmware, because if it was the EROM flashing the phone wouldn't solve that problem. But it is OK when you know you have the latest EROM, not the buggy one .
