> What does coming soon mean?

I see that on the SE website phones that are coming soon are asteriked,as soon as a phone comes the star is removed meaning it is available,however there are plenty of phones like the w660i which are not yet available in the market.

I've said this over and over during the years and its still true. Indeed some people see it dissapear only to return to coming soon a few days later
pay no attention to that. when you see it available in the shopes or online... only then can you be sure its available

On a last note:Its of no use, the consumer feedback that SE has launched to make its website better and more informative

its not really misleading. they just don't update the sites around the world minute by minute or day by day to reflect true availability.

that was my thought at first. i even searched on the internet if such phones are already out in the market. it came to a point that i just gave up and just thought that maybe they forgot to update their site.

It's funny because there are a lot of times when they've removed the "coming soon" from phones and they were never found in stores or online (the S500 was a pretty good example of this) and there were times where phones were already available everywhere for purchase and SE still had the coming soon listed on their website.
Anybody that has owned at least more than one SE phone has grown to accept this. SE is just really inconsistent on letting consumers know when their products are released. It's even worst when you try calling them and asking of their availablility as it seems customer service don't even know about their phones.

as a rule, on the Belgian SE website, from the moment the star disappears you have to count 2 weeks before the model becomes effectively available in (some) stores. Anyway, not a problem for me since i'd never buy a phone as soon as it comes out and prefer to wait for some real-user reviews first.
i guess this 2-week gap corresponds more or less to the gap between official shipping date and the moment the phones start appearing in retailers' shelves, so i see nothing wrong with that. i find the SE website rather accurate in that respect.

With SE coming soon means "one day, it will be on the shelves - maybe when it is outdated". The P990 was coming soon for almost a year!
