Well, i did a little experiment. Since the operator 3 here has rights over Slingmedia's Slingbox in the X-Series, i decided to buy a Slingbox Pro from the US and have it here in Sweden. There where reports on the sling fan forums that the ntsc box would work on pal in europe, but that the top and bottom parts of the feed would get chopped off, since ntsc has a lower resolution than pal, as you can see here:
Well, it turns out that for Pal B/G, the type used in Sweden, there is no clipping or anything! Therefore, i suggest that people get one if they think of getting any kind of Slingbox in Europe.
Running my slingbox on lan and wifi at the highest quality is perfect, i get a bitrate of around 6600Kbps, and a bandwidth usage of about 880kB/s
Any slingers here?

Let me explain man.
First of, its a tv receiver that you connect to the cable tv, or use an antenna on. Depending on what version you get, you can also connect other things like a TiVo, VCR, DVD, etc. Then, what the slingbox does is control and stream the output of the devices that you have connected one at a time, to either a pc or a pocket pc with windows mobile or palm. With the Slingplayer software on your device, you can then see the stream from anywhere in the world, since the slingbox streams on your lan/wifi network, or the internet. Some more info is here:
