i used this guide to repair my N95 slide issue.
http://www.simplysymbian.com/[....]epair-wobbly-slider-nokia-n95/
except i used thin sellotape instead of electrical tape, and it worked brill afterwards, didnt wobble or click...however i took it out thinking it could break the phone but im becoming irritated by the wobble and just wondering if i should put it back in...is it safe, like could it wear out the slider or cause it to snap?

i wouldnt personally do it as it may invalidate your warranty, if i got to a point where i wasnt happy with the build quality i'd just take it back!

i am thinkig about the same thing. Should i do it or not? The phone isnt the cheapest and dont want to mess up something. But the slider is pissing me off!! The service guy said that my phone is normal, lol? I can hear the cracking when i walk. When pressin the 'main keys' i sometimes miss due to the 'bad slider'. What should i do?

lol its difficult, mine doesnt sound as bad as yours but while navigating through the menus its irritating hearing the tap tap

but anyway its easy to do i did it before and it was brilliant, although took it out cos i was worried about long term damage and thats why im waiting on a reply....but if you do decide to do it use normal sellotape as that seems to work fine, although yours may be worse thna mine as i said

I've done the slider fix the same way, I actually put 3 layers of electrical tape just to make it that bit stiffer as before the slider would keep opening in my pocket and making phone calls which was a hassle. I actually kinda screwed up one screw but the way I thought of it is that its not really going to mess up the phone as all you are doing is filling up void space, I found another method of fixing it that explains it better but also looked more risker heres the link for other method

I'm just glad the annoying click noise is gone and finally the slider is smooth and not loose like before, don't see it causing any problems in the long run, just read the other method and it should help clear up some doubts.

yeah, i think i'm gonna do it

i was just worried because i read "There should be some play in the slide, it stops the snapping" here:
https://www.expansys.com/ft.aspx?k=94309

although after doing it the first time i noticed that it does still have about 0.5 mm of play when its closed and you push it a little, it just solves the problem of it woblling when operating it with the slide open

There will always be a little bit of gap between the keypad and the slider allowing for that room to prevent any possible 'snapping' but i'd recommend it mate, it surely does make a huge difference, only thing that annoy's me as 3 of my mates who also own the n95 seem to have the strongest sliders from the start, which is annoying as this is actually my second n95 from t-mobile as the first one's slider was way too loose.
