Hi All,
Sorry if I've come here for problems... but SE is not replying to my email.
I have a P990i, and it was bought in less than a month as of this writing.
And I have several questions:
MemoryStick as Storage
How can I set my phone to use the Memory Stick to store messages (SMS,MMS,Emails) instead of phone's internal storage?
How can I set my phone to use Memory Stick to store contacts instead of phone's internal storage?
Contacts
How do set my phone to display SIM contacts together with Phone contacts?
How can import my SIM contacts (to phone) without splitting name parts to first and last name?
Now I cannot receive emails with larger attachments because this thing is telling me that "The operation you have selected requires more storage space than is available. Free some space, for example by deleting files, and try again." I know this switching between phone memory and memory card for storing messages could be done in seconds, but I don't know how to do it in P990i.
Email Settings
In email settings, how can I change my connection type (from IMAP to POP3, POP3 to IMAP) without loosing my emails? Because when I try to change the connection type of my email account, it's telling me that I will loose all emails that have been already downloaded.
You see, we have several offices worldwide, and our work (at least in our department) requires us to travel from one point to another. When I move, say from Manila to Germany, my mail box will be replicated to my new location. In Germany, they are using a third party mail fetch gateway using the IMAP protocol whereas in Manila, we are using the POP3-SSL for incoming mails. How can I resolve this?
Thanks for the help... in advance!

please help.
I'm even willing to pay, just to make this thing usable for messaging.

I don't think that it is possible to store messages on the storage card. Try to move other things like the applications to the card to free up internal space, if you haven't already done this.

Hi, thank you for your answer.
I have no applications installed in the phone's internal memory except the default. I only have 3 existing emails in my inbox (with attachments approx. 30mb, which I cannot delete and I need those intact).
Since it isn't possible (as you said) to store messages in the memory card, that means my 4gig is pretty useless. This is supposed to be an all-in-one messaging/business phone, and I cannot use its external memory to store work related emails/messages.
So its external memory is for pictures, music, etc. mmm... great business phone.
Thanks dsthlm!
by the way... could anyone there swap my P990i for WM unit or for a Nokia E series?
Thanks again

Memory stick:
1. n/a but if you were considering to use it for such a mail traffic, this should've been the very first thing to check before buying it (this option is available in S60, if my memory serves me well)
2. n/a
Contacts
1. n/a
2. never tried
E-mail settings:
1. you can't
2. why don't you create two separate accounts, one IMAP and one POP3 ?
I only have 3 existing emails in my inbox (with attachments approx. 30mb, which I cannot delete and I need those intact).
may I ask what the file types of these attachments are ?

oh, two accounts for one account? yes, I thought of that and tried before posting, but the problem is it would scatter the messages esp. message which are related with each other.
what type of attachments? documents, diagrams, blueprints, images.
