Bookmark topic
dear all..,
i just bought my P990i two weeks ago. and since the first day, i found that this phone has very bad signal reception. i often receive "no access to network" and it remain in that status even when i move to another place !! if i turn off and then turn on the phone again, this problem is solved (still it only gets 1-2 bar signal indicator). this signal reception problem occurs everytime i put my P990i in my pocket or i enter the lift.
i read in one forum, many P990i users face this problem. is there any solution ?
i also read in one forum that this probem can be solved if you set the phone to GSM only (not GSM & UMTS). how can i do that??
i can't stand this problem...many people can't contact me when i'm facing this problem. should i sell my P990i ??
my Phone:
Phone : CXC162037 R9G007
CDA : CDA162007/2 R6D23
Bluetooth : CXC162058 R5A01
Organizer : CXC162036 R6D23

Take it back and get a refund/replacement or send it to me for nothing.

Yes, try setting it to GSM only if your 3G signal is weak, the low bars you're getting is probably the weak 3G signal in your locality. Go to control panel -->connection, if I'm not mistaken it's somewhere in network connection under the drop-down menu, just play around in there and you'll find it, there are 3 options 1)GSM only 2)GSM and 3G 3)3G only. I can't guide you in detail because my P990 just got soaked in pool water & I'm having it serviced. Then I'm gonna sell it & get a new P990 before the parts get rusted beyond repair. If the low signal persists after changing that setting, then you should get a replacement or refund
